I do not like odd numbers. Neither one, five, seven or nine. I do not mind three. Maybe that is why I decided that the coach’s number where this stories all happen would be the coach number 207. Two plus seven equals nine. Seven minus two equals five. Maybe I’m thinking too much about it, and there is no reason.
The coach 207 was red and had two black lines, one bigger than the other, under the edges of the big windows. When you stepped in the stairs to get in the train, a beautiful blonde young woman would smile at you and ask for your ticket. Once checked your seat, she would manage a big smile again with perfect white teeth followed by a sweet “Welcome aboard”. The seats were also red, but more kind of a dark red, and very comfortable. You could feel how the cushion shrunk under your weight. Then, after all the exhausting rushes you had to survive to get there in time, you would fall asleep and not even wake up when the wheels started to run. Your sleep would be deep and your dreams great.
And then, is when you real trip starts. You do not know what is going to happen on the next six months, but I, I do know it very well, and your reactions too. And I will write it to the lectors as best as I can.
The first day, you thought you were still dreaming. Your only wish since you were a kid, and now it is becoming true. “Ain’t that amazin?”-says a voice in your head. And you cannot stop smiling. After reading a little bit your new book, talking about dystopias, eat a couple dishes that the smiling blonde has offered you and before you have time to think about something else, you fall asleep again. And your dream is the best start to this new story, because is where all starts. You dream about a specific day, about 17 years ago, when your sixth birthday was coming and your “papa” asked what you wanted for present. Your answer surprised him, because he had never been a guy who left his mind had dreams and wishes. “Dreams only will disappoint you” he used to say. But when you said, “ Papa, the only thing i want is an egg, he smiled and then asked you why. What you said next did really surprise him and left him with wide open eyes, thinking about how to make his son’s wishes come true. You, little traveller, asked for an egg of a flying horse. You wanted to take care of him until he got enough strength to fly with you on his back. That made you ask also for a barn made by “Papa”. You were so young you did not even realize that it was not possible until you saw the sad look on you father’s eyes. Your mother then called me from the kitchen, knowing about all the conversation, and your father followed you in the wheelchair.
